USA Kayak Fishing Leadership opportunities – apply today! Join the movement to grow kayak fishing and make kayak fishing an Olympic Sport
State College, PA – USA Kayak Fishing is excited to announce that it is looking for America’s most passionate kayak fishing leaders. Interested parties can send an email to USAngling President, Tony Forte, tforte@usangling.org (Reference USA Kayak Fishing Leadership in email – further instructions will then be provided). Applicants will be assessed for USA Kayak Fishing President and/ or the USA Kayak Fishing Steering Committee. USA Kayak Fishing is a part of USAngling, a 501c3 charitable organization. Olympic recognition is already in process with kayak fishing being a likely fit due to its increasingly widespread popularity and low environmental impact
Duties will include development of a USA Kayak Fishing Team selection process, social media support, sponsor recruitment, team travel crew, and other support items. Use your talents to promote your sport and country! This is a chance to shape the future of this relatively new team, critics and advocates are encouraged to apply and step up to the plate. A bigger sport means more interest, more anglers, more sponsors and larger paydays for kayak anglers.
“There are many exciting developments regarding international kayak fishing. This includes a Pan American Championship to be held on Mexico’s famous Lake Cuchillo and a World Championship to be held in Portugal this fall.” Says USA Kayak Fishing Team Manager, John Knight. Even more exciting is that the USA will host the 2023 Kayak Fishing World Championship in Cookeville, TN on Centerhill Lake.
The prevailing thought is that the Angler of the Year from the three major tours (KBF Pro Tour, Hobie BOS, and B.A.S.S.) should be part of our World Championship teams starting in 2023. This will be the foundation for selecting future anglers. The process for selecting additional anglers will be up to the USA Kayak Fishing Committee via events and other relevant criteria.
