Bass Fishing World Championships at Lake Murray moves to 2022

The World #1 ranked bass angler – Jacob Wheeler will be fishing for the star-studded USA Bass team in 2022 

State College, Pennsylvannia – The official Bass Fishing World Championship will have to wait one more year before the bass fishing world descends upon Lake Murray in Columbia, SC. The event, officially sanctioned by the Confederation Internationale de Peche Sportive – CIPS, has been moved to 2022 amid Covid related travel bans. 

“We are looking forward to hosting the championship at lake Murray next year” says USA Bass President, Tony Forte. “We fully expect the 2022 event to include the largest number of participating nations ever assembled. The 2022 Bass World Championship Is an important step for the expansion of bass fishing globally. Lake Murray is recognized as America’s premier tournament bass fishing destination. There is plenty of pent up excitement from international anglers such as Canada’s Bob Izumi. They look forward to a world class fishery and hospitality from the Capital City Lake Murray RTB. “This event will be worth the wait. The USA Bass team will consist of top anglers from MLF and B.A.S.S. including Scott Martin, Jacob Wheeler, Scott Canterbury, David Dudley, Mark Rose, David Fritts, Fred Roumbanis and James Watson.
